Draw reveals fantastic groups for the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship
June 1, 2024Everything is set for the 29th IHF Men’s World Handball Championship Draw event
The long anticipated final Draw for 29th IHF World Championship of 2025 will be held in Zagreb in the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall on 29th of May 2024 at 19:30h (CEST). It will be attended by creme the la creme of the European and international world of handball.
“We are ready, we have passion, energy and a long term experience. It will be a very interesting sports-fun manifestation with few events outside and inside the hall Vatroslav Lisinski. Four representatives alongside Patric Strub will be in the Draw event. Croatian head coach Dagur Sigurdsson and goalkeeper Dominik Kuzmanovic, Norwegian star Alexander Blonz, and one Danish player will be present for the Draw“, says Silvijo Njiric, Croatian director of the 29th IHF World Handball Championship 2025 and the Croatian Handball Federation Marketing.
The 32 teams will be distributed among eight groups. Eight teams in two groups will be placed in Herning, Denmark. Another eight teams will be placed in Oslo, Norway. Four groups of 16 teams will be placed in Croatia in three different cities. Two groups will be in Zagreb, one group in Varazdin and one group in Porec.
The Main rounds will be played in 4 different cities in 3 countries. One group will be kept in Herning, Denmark, one in Oslo, Norway, and two Main round groups in Croatian cities of Zagreb and Varazdin. Porec in Croatia will host the President’s cup tournament.
Two matches of the quarterfinals will be held in Oslo and two in Zagreb. Those same cities will host the Semi-finals. Oslo will host the Final matches on 2nd of February 2025.

Pot 2: Portugal, Croatia, Austria, Iceland, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Czechia
Pot 3: Poland, North Macedonia, Qatar, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Japan, Algeria
Pot 4: Bahrain, Tunisia, Chile, Kuwait, Cape Verde, Guinea, USA, Switzerland
