The opening ceremony and the first match of the 2025 IHF Men’s World Handball Championship are scheduled for Herning, Denmark on 14 January 2025. Denmark has spectacular results in their handball team. They got seven medals in total, where three of them are golden.
Unlike Norway, Denmark has already hosted the World Championship twice. The arena has the capacity of 11019 people so we can expect a spectacular show with a lot of people, handball lovers and fans. There will be many handball stars so this season is especially important, and we can expect an amazing show and matches.
“We are excited that Denmark can begin the defense of the IHF Men’s World Championship-trophy on home ground. The championship will be the seventh in the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning, where the atmosphere is always electric. Once again, we aim to raise the bar and set new standards for world-class handball experiences together with our co-hosts and the hundreds of volunteers who make it all possible. We can’t wait to welcome handball fans from all over the world“, says Anita Kristiansen, Event Manager of the Danish Handball.
Even though one of the best ever Danish stars Mikkel Hansen will not play, there is no doubt rising stars and other, well known handball faces will fight for one more trophy, as well as the Danish fans.
