June 10, 2024Name the official mascot of the World Championship
It is well known that every big sports event has a mascot. During the Draw ceremony for the 29th IHF Men’s World Handball Championship, the mascot was presented for the first time. It’s a fox. The Danish, Norwegian, and Croatian Handball Federations were discussing which animal to choose as a mascot for this Championship. Among different animals, the fox stood out as the most unique animal habited in all three countries. There is no name yet because the three Organizers of the Championship want to share the honor of choosing a name with fans and friends of handball. This is where the public will jump in!
In the upcoming period, the followers of the official social media accounts of the Danish, Norwegian, and Croatian Handball Federations will choose the name for the fox through an open contest. The public and fans can participate via social media proposing the names for the mascot.
Therefore, from Friday, June 7 to Monday, June 10, 2025, Organizers will allow all fans to present their proposals through the social networks of all three Federations. The two best proposals from each host country will be awarded two tickets to one of the matches of the first phase of the competition (suggestions selected by Organizers). After that, three Federations will choose the two best proposals or the most beautiful names from each organizing country, and three names will compete in the final selection. In the week after that, all of you will have the opportunity to vote for one of the three best proposals (from the 14th till the 20th of June). So on June 21, the day after the official start of summer 2024, we would finally get a name for our mascot.
Best of luck!
